10 tablespoons (145 g) unsalted butter

3/4 cup (150 g) light or dark brown sugar

2/3 cup (160 ml) molasses (sweetener)

1 adult egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

438 g of flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves


Take a large bowl and place the softened butter at room temperature. Stir until its mass becomes airy and creamy. Then add the brown sugar and sweetener and mix together. After obtaining a homogeneous mass, add the vanilla and eggs.

In a separate bowl, add flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, and cloves. Mix wet and dry ingredients. The resulting dough mass will come out thick and slightly sticky. Divide the dough into two parts. Press each to create a disk-like shape. It is important to keep the pressed discs for at least 3 hours and refrigerate.

Preheat oven to 177 ° C. Lay 2-3 large loaves of parchment paper or silicone baking tin. Roll out the dough and give the desired shapes.

Bake your cakes for about 9-10 minutes. 


After baking, you can decorate the cooled cake with the decoration you want.
